Hamilton’s story weaves together the fascinating real history of how Peru and Birkenhead are tied together with a bit of historical fiction magic.
Hamilton Bear’s Journey begins as a stowaway on an epic voyage across the seas. On his way, he meets the soon to become legendary Peruvian Admiral Miguel Grau, a national hero who would go onto sail on the Huáscar, a ship built by none other than the Laird brothers shipbuilders, in the heart of Birkenhead.
We’ve written the first part of Hamilton’s story, and we’re inviting young artists to continue this thrilling narrative, adding their own creative twists to Hamilton’s ongoing adventure.
